Cover everything first

Painting overhead puts paint in the air and on whatever sits below. So the room is prepared before the ceiling is touched. We cover and mask everything that is not getting paint: floors, furniture, light fixtures and the tops of the walls. When we are done, the only thing that changed is the ceiling. Then we clean up and leave the space ready to use.

The edge between ceiling and wall is one of the most visible lines in a house. A wobbly edge makes a good paint job look rushed. We keep that line straight, and we keep the ceiling colour off your walls. If you are repainting the ceiling and the walls together, we plan the order so each surface gets the right finish and the lines stay sharp.

Marks, stains and tired ceilings

Ceilings pick up marks over the years: smoke, steam from bathrooms and kitchens, and the odd stain. Textured ceilings hold dust. Send a photo of your ceiling and tell us what you can see. We will look at the condition, ask questions if we need to, and give you a free estimate for the job. If a stain needs more than paint, we will say so plainly.

Will paint get on my floors and walls?

We cover and mask everything that is not getting paint, so the floors, furniture and walls stay protected.

Should I paint the walls at the same time?

It often makes sense, because the room is already covered and prepped. If you want both done, tell us and we will estimate them together.
