Okotoks has a mix: an established town core with older homes and character details, and newer estates built out toward the edges. They need different things. Older homes often mean more patching, more trim and more prep before paint will sit well. Newer homes tend to need a first repaint, a colour update, or deck and exterior work as the finish ages. We plan the prep to the house in front of us, not to a template.
South of Calgary and close to the foothills, Okotoks gets strong chinook winds. Those bring fast temperature swings, dry air and wind, which all work on exterior paint and deck stain. Sun exposure fades south and west faces, and freeze-thaw cycles open small cracks that let moisture in. Inside, dry chinook air can open hairline cracks in walls.
